Teleprompter rental and operators in Vancouver, BC
A teleprompter, set up and run by an operator who follows your speaker word for word. Half days start at $450, and every booking includes setup, script loading and live edits on site.
Good evening, and welcome.
[Pause]
This is what your speaker sees.
Large, steady text at eye level, moving at exactly their pace.
If they slow down, the words slow down.
If they stop to thank someone, the words wait.
[Pause for applause]
That part is the operator's job.
The speaker's job is to walk on, look at the room, and mean every word.
Thank you, and enjoy the evening.

How a show day runs
Send the script
Word, Google Docs, PDF or plain text. It is formatted for the prompter, with phonetic spellings for difficult names.
Set up and test
The prompter is in place and running before rehearsal, connected to your AV team's video system where needed.
Rehearse
Each speaker reads through once. Text size, line length and pace are set for them.
Run the show
The operator follows the speaker through pauses, ad-libs and applause. Edits go in between speakers.
Built so the speech never stops
Two laptops, one script
A second machine runs the same script in step with the first. If one fails, the other takes over.
A person, not an algorithm
The operator listens to the speaker and moves with them. Skipped lines, added thanks and long applause are all handled live.
Paper on the lectern
A printed copy in large type sits on the lectern, matched to the final version on screen.
Who books a teleprompter
AV companies and venues
An operator for the days your crew is committed elsewhere, working on your gear and taking direction from your show caller.
Event planners
One line on the budget that makes every speaker on the program sound prepared.
Video producers
A prompter and operator who fit around your camera crew and cut the number of takes.
Communications teams
Executives who deliver the approved wording, on time, while looking at the audience.
Run by someone who has run the room
Teleprompters BC is run by Michael Caswell, an AV operations manager and technical supervisor who has delivered conferences, corporate meetings and galas in the ballrooms of the Hyatt Regency Vancouver.
That means the prompter arrives with someone who already knows how a show floor works: where the video feed comes from, who calls the cues, and how to stay out of the way until the moment it matters.
Teleprompters BC is a CASWELL AV service.
